Moving with Maktoub

Moving with Maktoub, a virtual ceremony and performance with a collective that is dear to my heart and spirit. I first founded Maktoub Collective in Cleveland as a way to bring together and build Muslim and SWANA community around spirituality, creative practice and social justice. With the pandemic, we blossomed our reach nationally, reuniting with old friends and expanding this sacred circle of safety. It has been a true refuge in trying times.

We invite you to enter this circle of safety on Saturday, July 24th from 5-7pm est/ 2-4 pm pst as we chant zikr, jam out to DJ Baqvas and bless the space with story and poetry.

Register here to be transported and held: https://bit.ly/360kdhI

Maktoub Collective is a poetry and arts collective for Muslim and SWANA writers which is women and queer-led and based in Sufi practices of divine communion and creative practice. The collective is based in the principles of intuition, illumination and inspiration. We move towards furthering our knowledge of self and God, healing one, healing all, uplifting stigmatized voices and ending Islamophobia.

Join us Saturday, July 24th from 5-7pm est/ 2-4 pm pst as we gather for remembrance of the Divine, story, music, and poetry.
